What is Quality Assurance?

What is Quality Assurance?

When we work on a translation project, we proceed with translation, editing and correction, proofreading, and QA to ensure translation quality. First of all, translation is performed by a general translators. After translation, we compare the original text with the translated document and proceed with the editing and revision process. After that, reviewers check and correct unnatural phrases and incorrect expressions. And finally, to improve the quality of the translation, we go through a Quality Assurance (QA) process.

QA stands for Quality Assurance. QA is the process of conducting various reviews and tests before content distribution and product release in order to guarantee a certain quality of translated content. QA has to deal with different components, such as:

1.     Linguistic test

Linguistic experts ensure that the translated content accurately conveys the meaning and intent of the original text. They review the consistency of terminology and correct formatting of text.

2.     Functional testing

This step identifies inconsistencies and errors in the translated content. Reviewers look for spelling and grammatical errors, formatting issues, spaces, repeated words, and inconsistent capitalization. In addition, we review links and bugs within translated content.

3.     Design test

We review fonts, text length, and text errors, etc. Also, we review the images for appropriateness with the content. In addition, we review the layout of UI elements and whether the translated content is displayed properly on users' devices.

Quality Assurance (QA) is an essential component of translation to guarantee the best translation quality for your businesses.
